Teo Chew Cendol Ice & Kacang @ Jalan Keng Kwee, Georgetown, Penang

The Famous Teo Chew Cendol Ice Kacang (RM2.20)
I am sure those who went to Penang before would have tried this famous Teo Chew cendol ice kacang. It is so famous that even the Singaporean famous artist, Phua Chu Kang has been there to try their cendol. For me it is the best cendol ice kacang that I ever tried and even better than those from my hometown and Klang Valley. The cendol (the green noodle) noodles are freshly made, and with the perfect mixture of homemade gula melaka, coconut milk, red bean and shaved ice, it forms a perfect cendol ice kacang! Seriously the best!
The Road side stall
When we reached at the stall, the queue was rather shorter but after a while the queue built up. Pheeww~~ lucky for us to order early. But not to worry because they are always efficient. It is not hard to locate the cendol stall. It is just along Keng Kwee Street off Penang Road but beware that there are two cendol stalls along that road. The stall with photos on it is the one and remember of their green white uniform. Most of the time the penangites will just stand beside the stall and churning up their bowl of cendol under the hot sun. However, you can always walk to the shop lot nearby which is owned by the same owner to have a seat and it is air-conditioned. This is to cater for the tourists. Must Try! Highly recommended! =)

Nyonya Colors @ 1 Utama Shopping Mall

It's family day! =) We decide to spent our half day at 1 Utama Shopping Mall. I still remember there is a restaurant named 'Nyonya Colors' that serves nice Nyonya kuih so I decide to bring my parent to have a try. The store is normally packed during the lunch and dinner hours but we manage to get our seats. Other than nyonya kuih, they do serve other Malaysian food such as nasi lemak, nasi kunyik, laksa, etc.
Roti Jala (RM 8.90)
The yellowish net-look pancake rolls are known as Roti Jala. It is made using wheat flour and best mixed with chicken curry. The taste is awesome along with the combination and I am totally in love with the chicken curry. It is concentrated and not very spicy. Recommended!
Cendol + Red Bean
We also ordered the cendol + red bean. It is a bit too sweet for me maybe because they put too much of 'Gula Melaka'/ Palm sugar but overall it is still ok.
Kuih Talam + Lapis Pandan
Kuih Talam and Lapis Pandan from here is really good! You can mix the kuih with 'kaya' for better taste or you can just taste it originally. Compared to the kuih Talam from my hometown, Terengganu, Kuih sold here is slightly better. The kuih is definitely their selling point! Highly recommended!
Kuih Ketayap
This is my favourite! Kuih Ketayap, shredded coconut mixed with gula melaka wrapped with a layer made from wheat flour. However, it is not as good as those from my hometown. The one that I tried from Terengganu is way better. The juicy shredded coconut mix will just flow out within the first bite! yummy~~
